Costa Rica participated in a virtual “Pride Walk” with the 42 countries that make up the intergovernmental Equal Rights Coalition (ERC). The Embassy in the Hague joined the virtual march, which was broadcasted on July 28, 2020. This is the date in which the traditional diversity parade would have taken place in Amsterdam, which was cancelled this year, due to the pandemic.
The Equal Rights Coalition was launched in Uruguay in 2016, to protect the rights, and promote the inclusive development of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people. This coalition engages with civil society organizations and multilateral agencies on a periodic basis.
